I completed my final draft of Poems by Martha, and boy do I feel like a huge weight of responsibility has been lifted from my shoulders! If I do say so myself the book looks amazing! I took out several more pictures that just looked wrong and a few that didnt fit. Then I evened it up, one poem with a corresponding picture, two pages of pics and then another poem with corresponding pic. There are a few that dont follow that pattern. The Family Thoughts section has a few more pages of pics and there are a few more pictures of Martha's pet dogs than would be prescribed by my pattern but what the hey! I have a soft spot for animals, there some of the best people I know. Then there are a few poems that are more than one page long and that changed the pattern a bit. But... all in all, it looks much better and I'm happier with it but more importantly I think that Martha would be happier with it.
Once that was completed last night my mental block on my Poseidon's Daughter book was suddenly gone. I completed another chapter and a half last night and took my antagonist in a slightly different direction. It was what I think an expected direction given the situation but I did add a little extra twist to the already twisted situation and plan on adding some more tonight.
I dont know how many of you follow my facebook page but if you do or dont could you please just this once check my page and if you find it in your heart sign a couple of petitions that I have highlighted on my page. I really feel very strongly about the slaughter that is presently taking place in Wyoming, Idaho and Michigan concerning the wolves. I understand killing animals or even humans that are a threat to you or your family, self defense is justified. But trapping animals and then beating them to death is not only inhumane it is cowerdly and lazy. Who have these animals harmed? What does this kind of sensless slaughter say about the humans that commit it? In my mind beating a defenseless animal is akin to beating a child or an elderly person to death. There simply is no cause for it that is justified. It doesnt take a gun to kill, it takes a person with no moral compass.
Okay, I'll get off of my soap box, but please if it moves your heart, please take the time to read the little story of the wolf caught in the trap. Whoever wrote that little piece sure knows how to tell a story.
I'll talk with you all later, be good to each other and the animals in your care.
