I am so excited! Tomorrow is the Zombie run! Of course since I have been planning this weekend for months now work decided to send us all to weapons training and nearly derailed the Zombie run for me, but the run starts at 8 in the morning and I don't have to be at work until noon. So, it's going to be tight but I'm still going. Afterwards I get to drive out to Herlong, which you may remember from the news a few Marines lost their lives there this month. We will not be handling the same ordinance, we're just using 9 mm hand guns and shotguns. The rest of the crew will be qualifying on some larger guns, but no explosives.
In other news I have begun to write the big wedding between Rolf and K'ili. It will be monumental. K'ili is now a member of the Sinarri Royal house, well she was before but she has now been adopted as a daughter of the King, essentially she is now Ja'nar's sister, but not first in succession to the throne. Rolf as you know is just an average human that was in the right place at the right time with the right talent and ambition to become the General in charge of the world's military. But he and K'ili have attained the King's blessing to wed.
This is part of the story that I really want to emphasize because it is huge in the growth and transition of the new world in which my story is set. It is a familiar scenario where people overcome their prejudices and fears in the face of something that is a common goal or enemy. It is no different here except that in the case of Rolf and K'ili their personal journeys will touch and shape so many other journeys because of who and what they are. At the same time their union will be a beacon for some and an abomination to others. Ultimately it is their union and their understanding and tolerance that will shape the twins into something that can get the job done, just like Lena had foreseen.
It's a shame that Lena must abandon her children so that they will not be paralyzed when she dies, but it is necessary. They will need to be ready to accept someone else in the traditional parent roll so that they can get the maximum benefit from the learning. Through it all Lena is seen as someone who has lost her marbles and is receding into a world of religion. Michael really has lost his marbles and cannot have contact with the girls.
Speaking of Michael the net around him is getting smaller by the day and he is unaware of it. His focus is completely on the daughter that he has been told exists. From chapter one it has been all about Michael's obsession with having children. Now that he knows that he succeeded he will stop at nothing to get to her. He has also heard that his wife has gone off the deep and since truly insane people think that they are the only sane people anyway, he is not shocked by the news. He considers Lena an obstruction, but still in his heart he remembers that he once loved her. He hopes that she will not get in the way when it is time for him to collect his prize. But for Michael there is a surprise coming when he sees Lena with two daughters, both of which are completely different from the other. Which will he think is his? Deanna said nothing about twins.
There is still so much more to write for this book. I'm still shaping the psyche's of the girls in my mind. I don't want to make either one of them too bad or too cuddly. They are orphans, or soon will be, but that will be only one thing that will shape them. They are tools, but the design is known for only one of them. The question will continue to be, what is Fallyn? Kira we already know is a psychopath that was designed to have no emotions at all. Magical ability takes up all of the space inside of her and yet, she listens to Fallyn whom everyone assumes was meant to be discarded. But was that the plan? We don't know because nobody can find the Doctor that designed them... except for Lodric, the Chief Councilman of the Kingdoms and he doesn't care what the twins were designed to do, he just wants them contained.
So the race to be the ones in control of the twins is reaching the finish line. And all of the contestants are neck in neck. Who's going to get them? Stay tuned, first we have to have a wedding!
See you all tomorrow at the Zombie run, if not there than please remember the MACA march in a city near you on Monday morning!
Be good to each other.
